DSC Software at Britain’s largest advanced engineering trade fair

The Advanced Engineering UK 2015 trade fair took place in the NEC, Birmingham, on November 4/5, 2015. DSC Software was there for the first time with a stand in Hall 5. The motto over DSC’s appearance was “We make Engineers want SAP” – and that was confirmed by numerous visitors who had never before seen SAP’s Engineering Control Center, the integration platform for CAD applications etc.

The Advanced Engineering fair is the largest trade fair in Britain for product manufacturers and suppliers with more than 700 relevant product and service providers, principally from the automotive, aerospace and defense, and manufacturing branches.

Engineering and production planning
DSC scored not only with SAP ECTR, with which SAP-based engineering can be optimized, simplified, and made more sustainable. The Karlsruhe software house had quite a lot more to offer: continuous, secure, and efficient CAD-CAM-DNC processes. With the combination of SAP ECTR and FCTR, engineering data and production-relevant information can be managed jointly in an IT system and intelligently linked. In this way, much can be profitably automated. In addition to SAP ECTR, which integrates all kinds of authoring tools in SAP PLM, FCTR integrates both CAM and work preparation and production planning in the SAP-supported product creation process. Moreover, FCTR links shop-floor systems and CNC machines and enables complete tool libraries to be managed in the SAP system. This enables engineering and production to be seamlessly connected. Visitors to the DSC stand were presented with demonstrations showing what that looks like in practice.

Communications platform
The fair gave DSC the opportunity to get into direct conversation with British industrial and production companies and make interesting contacts. The integration specialists from Germany were able to present prospective new customers with the product portfolio consisting of the two top solutions SAP ECTR and FCTR.
