Big launch party for SAP Engineering Control Center

DSC, SAP and partners celebrate the birth of their joint Integration Platform and the worldwide rollout of their PLM solutions
Karlsruhe, November 12, 2014
156 guests from all over Germany were present at the big SAP Engineering Control Center launch party on the evening of November 6, 2014 in the Karlsruhe Palazzo. DSC Software and SAP SE had invited their own employees as well as the SAP PLM development partners CENIT, CIDEON, .riess and EPLAN. Representatives of all companies who had collaborated in the new integration solution were also present. With this event, the hosts paid tribute to the outstanding commitment of more than 450 project participants and ushered in the international rollout of the joint SAP PLM solutions.
A great cause for celebration was the release of the first customer-friendly version of SAP Engineering Control Center on November 3, 2014: completely on schedule, exactly 7 months after SAP announced the software project at the SAPinsider PLM2014 fair in Las Vegas (USA). With this lightning development performance DSC, SAP and partners showed what the new solution promises product manufacturers of all industrial branches and sizes: getting new developments on the market much faster than ever before.
At the casual get-together in Karlsruhe, the motto was “Around the world in 80 days”. Under this motto, the event location, a revamped industrial building from the late 19th century, offered the guests a breathtaking atmosphere.
Important milestone on the way to Industry 4.0
SAP Engineering Control Center is a high-performance integration platform for developer teams and systems engineers and an important component of the SAP strategy according to the maxims of Industry 4.0: for the sustainable support of continuous processes and control of the entire product lifecycle. Via a standard interface, which is constantly being extended, all development and authoring systems are integrated in SAP PLM – along the whole value-added chain. At the start are leading MCAD systems that have already been successfully integrated with the support of the respective development partners. At the end, SAP Engineering Control Center should offer a comprehensive product overview: including data from mechanics, electronics, software, and simulation. At the same time, the solution simplifies the IT landscape in companies, reduces system administration expenses, and lowers running costs of software maintenance.
Tried-and-tested basic technology from DSC
DSC has provided the basic technology for SAP Engineering Control Center: with Engineering Control Center (ECTR), which has been internationally successful for years. Technical users praise ECTR particularly as an intuitive SAP frontend that makes using SAP extremely easy.
