“Fascination with Integration” at the Siemens PLM Connection Deutschland 2016
DSC impressed visitors with an SAP-integrated PLM solution that leaves nothing to be desired – even with designers
From June 7–8, 2016, the Siemens PLM Connection Deutschland conference was the traditional guest in the Lufthansa Training & Conference Center, Seeheim (Germany). This year too they were accompanied by DSC Software – as exhibitor and one of a total of 700 participants of the biggest German specialist conference for Siemens PLM software users. This year’s DSC motto: added value for companies thanks to continuous data and processes. In this connection, the DSC stand presented various solutions and topics:
- SAP Engineering Control Center, the SAP-PLM Integration Platform for Industry 4.0
- Document management, data exchange and visualization
- CAD integrations such as SAP Engineering Control Center interface to NX
- Integration of other authoring tools such as MS Office or e-mail programs
- Company-wide continuous change management
New options for engineering and beyond
In addition to many other things, SAP Engineering Control Center can also integrate authoring tools such as MCAD/ECAD seamlessly in SAP-based business processes – and thus produces smooth and efficient procedures across all disciplines such as concurrent or systems engineering. Combined with SAP Engineering Control Center interface to NX, models, assemblies, and drawings can very easily be managed directly from within NX in the SAP system. Other benefits are offered by the integrated viewer of SAP Engineering Control Center, with which users can also visualize products on the basis of JT data. Designers can now navigate fast through large assemblies, view all current SAP information on individual components, and open selected components directly in NX. And even non-CAD users profit, since sales and marketing staff can easily get an image of new products and inform service staff easily about delivered product configurations.
Inspiring eye-openers among stand visitors
Customers and potential customers were very enthusiastic about the latest DSC highlights. Visitors to the stand were impressed by the integration depth and the possibilities provided by SAP Engineering Control Center – particularly with regard to the seamlessly linked structures and processes of CAD and logistics in the SAP system. In addition to NX users, Solid Edge and CATIA V5 users were enthusiastic about the integration options. There was also great interest in viewing with neutral formats. And those who had only heard about SAP PLM were surprised to see an integration solution that also met designers’ expectations: particularly as regards look-and-feel, speed, and user-friendliness.
