Full house at the metalworkers’ – and DSC right at the center

At the fully booked AMB 2014, DSC, the driver of innovation, DSC secures a place in the Innovation Park.

The new exhibition halls and foyers of this year’s AMB (International Metalworking Trade Fail) were fully booked up to the very last of the more than 105,200 square meters. The fair took place in Stuttgart from September 16 to 20. DSC Software was present again this year: with intelligent SAP integration solutions such as Factory Control Center (FCTR), a solution in use internationally in metalworking companies, in particular manufacturers of machinery and plant.

In the metalworking area, the AMB as a biennial trade fair is one of the top 5 worldwide. For proof see the new latest figures: 90,331 visitors and 1,357 exhibitors from all over the world. But the AMB is not just getting bigger. The number of foreign visitors is also constantly growing: this time it was 15 percent compared with 12 percent two years ago and 11 percent in 2010.

Ideal location for DSC
Together with nine other exhibitors, DSC had a stand in the Innovation Park of the CNC Arena: perfectly placed, directly at the entrance to Hall 4, where all software providers were exhibiting. Thus DSC benefited from a busy public, interesting new contacts, and talks with long-term customers. At the same time, the stand was ideally located for networking with other providers of CAM/NC and tool management.

Center stage for SAP and FCTR
The presentations in the Innovation Park met with lively interest. Every day from 11am till 3pm, the stage was taken by the exhibitors there, and DSC too held daily presentations. The topic: “Factory Control Center – Product Development and Manufacturing with SAP”. The FCTR talk with a live presentation offered fascinating insights into SAP-integrated CAD/CAM/DNC processes including tool managements and logistics. A new surprise for many listeners was that SAP is not just good for accounting and finances. Thanks to the integration solutions from DSC, it is also perfectly suitable for technical areas such as development and production as well as production preparation.
