Innovation in Paradise – PI San Diego 2014

On an island paradise – innovation drivers like DSC offer congress visitors news about PLM,
ALM and SLM

Karlsruhe, October 28, 2014
The 2014 Product Innovation fair took place in the Paradise Point Island Resort on October 21/22, 2014 on an almost 18-hectare island in Mission Bay, 5 minutes from downtown San Diego (California). Surrounded by tropical gardens, peaceful lagoons, and long sandy beaches, for two days the talk was all about innovation – with the focus on PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), ALM (Application Lifecycle Management), and SLM (Service Lifecycle Management). As part of a strong PLM faction, DSC together with CENIT, CIDEON, and LeverX made its presentation of the SAP stand.

The 2014 PI San Diego was a manufacturer-independent congress. It combined research, development, engineering and IT, and provided information about innovations and trends in the field of product creation. The aim: to give interested parties in the field of product development and management an overview of all they need for a coherent innovation strategy. Present were 42 sponsors, including DSC Software, and 221 visitors from over 100 companies. With at least 18% more guests than last year, the congress was practically booked out. Nearly all large PLM manufacturers and PLM providers were there, such as ARAS, AUTODESK, PTC, SAP, and Siemens. SAP had the strongest provider presence.

SAP Engineering Control Center – an exciting look into the near future
As “SAP Gold Partner”, DSC is the development partner for SAP Engineering Control Center, a new integration platform for development teams and systems engineering: as a component of the SAP strategy according to the maxims of Industry 4.0. Speed meetings, PLM networking and more – positive balance for DSC
In advance, DSC had booked seven speed meetings with the organizers: timed 15-minute pre-arranged discussions between interested parties. These proved to be extremely promising and provided the basis for commercial follow-up activities. Apart from the speed meetings, there were many profitable talks and new contacts for DSC. The event also provided lots of opportunities for networking with SAP, SAP partners, and other PLM experts. So all in all, the Karlsruhe integration specialists were able to draw a very positive balance following the congress.
