Perfectly equipped for Industry 4.0
DSC USER MEETING 2016 in Chicago informed about applications of SAP Engineering Control Center
‘Industry 4.0 – Easy to connect’ – where can such a motto be presented more authentically than in Chicago, where the history of the industrial modern age was substantially shaped? Thus the scene of the latest DSC USER MEETING 2016 on September 20, 2016, was the metropolis on Lake Michigan. About 70 participants, including long-standing and new users of DSC solutions as well as representatives of the seven partner companies SAP, .riess engineering europe, CENIT North America, CIDEON America, EPLAN Software & Service, LeverX and xPLM, had sufficient opportunity to exchange experiences at the hotel Aloft Chicago O’Hare. In lectures and roundtables they could broaden their knowledge of SAP Engineering Control Center (SAP ECTR) and its many uses in the light of the requirements of industry 4.0. In addition, authoritative customers talked about the application of the solution in their enterprises and the advantages linked with it.
Joachim Roeder, Chief Executive Officer of DSC Software, included in his greeting the motto “Easy to connect” in connection with the everyday work of DSC and SAP. After all, the company’s success also depends not least on a strong network of partner companies and customers. Mark Landrosh, PLM & Visual Enterprise Solution Manager of SAP, gave in his subsequent keynote an overview of the new Extended Supply Chain strategy of SAP, in which the Product Lifecycle Management of SAP with ECTR plays an essential role. Afterwards different experts of the DSC Software AG reported on the potentials that SAP ECTR offers and what users can expect in future.
Increasing interconnection of research, development and production
The focus of the talks was on developments arising from the approach of industry 4.0 that have been massively changing the procedures in product production and manufacturing. It became clear that the entire value-added chain, including the individual authoring systems such as MCAD and ECAD, is interconnected even more strongly than before, and that the enterprise-wide availability of relevant documents from the areas of research, development and production will become even more important in future. In this connection, Joachim Roeder, Chief Executive Officer of the DSC Software AG, talked about the Performance Solutions of DSC Software AG for SAP PLM and pointed out the measures that can significantly improve the response times for users of the system.
The unanimous opinion of all participants was that the DSC USER MEETING 2016 in Chicago was a great success. The positive feedback from customers on the presented potentials of SAP ECTR has shown once again that DSC Software has an innovative, practice-proven product that is well prepared for the future challenges of industry 4.0. Based on the positive feedback from partners and customers, the DSC USER MEETING will in future take place on a regular basis at two-year intervals in the United States.
