Multi-site collaboration across the company – based on SAP PS, SAP iPPE, and ECTR. MAN Energy Solutions, based in Augsburg, Germany, with over 120 locations worldwide, is the market leader for large-bore diesel and gas fuel engines, and turbomachinery. To face the challenges of sustainability and competitiveness, MAN Energy Solutions has been focusing on internal collaboration. The goal of a current project is to optimize the internal collaboration on the basis of the central SAP system. The project managers at MAN Energy Solutions describe the achievements made, illustrating how DSC‘s software Engineering Control Center | ECTR contributes to the project success.

Climate neutrality by 2050 and the global competition conditions are stimulating our corporate strategy. Therefore, our technologies for marine propulsion and power stations are designed to reduce both power consumption and emissions. We leverage digitalization to make our industrial processes even more efficient and reliable. In-house, we are currently fostering collaboration across our value chain with the project “OPUS 2.H – collaboration for success”. These changes affect about 800 jobs.

The project‘s vision is to enable the flexible distribution of engineering and manufacturing tasks between the locations so that we can handle projects with maximum time and resource efficiency in an engineering-to-order process | ETO. This requires appropriately structured product data, project plans, and controlled processes. It is essential to provide every person involved with the necessary information. In addition, the required information must be available to the project manager in a clear and easy-to-follow way, during the whole project duration.
