Bihler introduces new and integrated ERP / PLM landscape together with a system house and DSC Software AG

Today, as products are ever more complex, and agility, efficiency, and customer satisfaction becoming more important, digitalization is a key factor of competition and success. Though, historically evolved IT landscapes often thwart a company’s Digital Journey. Thus, a modernization of core systems is of great importance for most IT deciders. This was the result of a “Legacy Modernization” survey carried out by Deloitte / IDG in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), which also shows: Many respondents consider this a difficult task due to limited human resources, the topic’s complexity, and the alleged long project duration.

The example of Bihler demonstrates how companies can quickly achieve this goal  – despite their limited capacities and the topic’s high complexity. The medium-sized global player not only used external support, but also opted for a holistic solution: with SAP S/4HANA, SAP PLM, SAP Engineering Control Center, and Factory Control Center. The introduction of SAP S/4HANA with integrated Product Lifecycle Management | PLM gives Bihler the freedom for new developments and enhances their digital opportunities. What were the project’s most important goals, challenges, and successes?
