Together for consistent PLM processes: SAP and DSC present SAP ECTR 1.3 for SAP S/4HANA
On October 1, 2025, DSC Software AG and SAP presented the latest developments in SAP Engineering Control Center | SAP ECTR. The virtual event with the theme “Bringing more consistency to your PLM processes” provided the participants with a compact overview of the new release of SAP ECTR 1.3 for SAP S/4HANA.
The speakers emphasized that SAP ECTR remains a key pillar of the PLM strategy in SAP S/4HANA – innovative, integrated, and future-proof.
The solution supports companies throughout the entire product lifecycle and helps strengthen their competitiveness.
The speakers Gerhard Himmelsbach, Product Owner SAP ECTR at SAP SE, as well as Dominik Maier, Senior Vice President Products and Development, and Achim Rossel, Senior Vice President Business Development, both from DSC Software AG, demonstrated the highlights of the latest release:
27 new features, over 100 improvements, and more than 20 implemented requests that were made in the SAP Customer Influence program. These numbers reflect the continuous development of the solution – always keeping real-world requirements in mind.
Two strategic guidelines coin the development of SAP ECTR:
- Hybrid scenarios – combining existing and new systems in one interface to enable cross-system processes.
- PLM embedded in ERP – for a seamless integration into SAP Business Suite and for consistent process chains.
New functions of SAP ECTR were presented in the webcast and were illustrated with exemplary software demos.
The webcast emphasized how closely SAP and DSC work together in the development of SAP ECTR – with a mutual goal of rethinking practical PLM processes and making companies future-proof.
